Our Finals 2012 CD has been reviewed by LitLive.ca!

The fine folks at LitLive.ca - a site dedicated to Canadian spoken word - has just reviewed our 2012 Finals CD: Live at the Royal.

FYI this is a double-CD (available for purchase, contact us!) featuring the 8 competitors from the 2012 Finals, including guest feature Kiki and the BAM! Youth Slam Team.

Annual all-female slam coming WED JANUARY 31 @ the Boat!

Toronto Poetry Project is proud to present our annual all-female slam, the slam to determine who reps Toronto at the Women of the World Poetry Slam tournament in Minneapolis in March!

Doors 7pm, signup 730, show at 8.
$10

The slam will follow a different format than usual: first round is the 2 minute round, followed by poems at 3 minutes max. Half the poets move on to 1 minute round, then half of those poets compete in the final 4 minute round. Scores are cumulative.

Poetry superstar Saul Williams is coming to Toronto Sept 7!

We are mad stoked to announce one of spoken word's legendary stars is coming to Toronto for one night only in early September.

Artistic Director Dave Silverberg published in high school textbook

Our founder and artistic director Dave Silverberg has just been published in a new textbook for high school teachers called Voices in the Hall, from McGraw-Hill Ryerson! His poem Make Em Laugh is featured in the Poetry section, and also includes lessons for teachers to pass along to students.

What's unique about this project is the online component: teachers can register with iLit.ca to get the poem and other material without buying the book.
