For the past four years, we have conducted slams and workshops in many schools, offering classrooms an exciting opportunity to learn more about spoken word, one of the fastest rising literary art forms.
Teachers, get a hold of us! Email us at info@torontopoetryslam.com
We have also performed at summer camps and arts festivals, so if you are looking for dynamic poetic talent for those venues, give us a shout!

July 30. The Drake. Poetry and performance. Open mic madness. Free condoms. Maybe.

Featuring Dave Perez from San Jose. He's a really nice guy. And his poetry will melt your eyes.
Until then, poetry nerds!
What an Anything Goes Slam. On May 28 Toronto Poetry Slam hosted its annual break-the-rules slams, where poets are encouraged to wear costumes, use props, do covers, go as wild as their imagination will take them.
And the poets stretched their boundaries, to varying degrees. Dave Silverbeg - the usual host of TPS - decided to outfit his ode to Natalie Portman with 28 photos displayed on the Drake projection screen, timed perfectly. We were treated to sick beats for Eytan Crouton's raps, and The Draft busted out his djembe drum for nice background to a story poem.
